Olivia Burton, 23, moves to California with her boyfriend, Francis Morales, 24, against the wishes of their families. Francis’s mother, Lillian, is a devout Catholic who disapproves of her son’s homosexuality and expresses her feelings in the form of postcards with violent religious themes. Despite these objections, the young lovers settle into their exciting new life together. However, their happiness is cut short when Francis is injured physically and mentally in an accident.
